PERETOLA: A MILLENNIAL HISTORY ON THE BORDER OF FLORENCE
edited by Utopia Station with Amir mediators
The church is located in the suburb of Peretola, the place of origin of the Vespucci family. It dates back to the 12th century and its structure still preserves an original Romanesque part. In the following centuries the church, administered by the hospital of Santa Maria Nuova, was enriched with many works of art, including a marble, bronze and glazed terracotta ciborium by Luca della Robbia, the first example of the use of the glazed majolica made famous later from the Della Robbia workshop.

EASTER, PASSAGE, REBIRTHA LOOK AT THE SENSE OF THE SACRED E
ABOUT THE RITUALS THAT HAVE ALWAYS BOUND HUMAN BEINGS
edited by the Fiesole Museums with AMIR mediators
The concept of celebration is linked to that of community, identity, social cohesion, collective memory. The party is an anniversary, a tradition, which has the function of handing down the memory of an event and its repetition becomes a ritual. Through the works of art and historical testimonies conserved in the Museums of Fiesole, the AMIR mediators accompany us on a journey that sheds light on some of the many links that exist between the symbols, rites and celebrations that human beings over the course of millennia have created to express their sense of the sacred, with the common intent to give meaning to human existence. In particular, these eight videos invite us to cast our gaze on some of the festivities that celebrate a transition, a rebirth, acquiring different connotations in time and space, but always maintaining many points of contact.
